Biggest turn-offs for Women

A new survey* shows that one third of women find arrogance a turn off. This is hardly news there have been many surveys over the years that seem to back this finding up.

But hang on, aren't I always telling you that confidence is one of the MOST attractive qualities?

Well yes and that's true. It's also true that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

So how can you tell if you're confident or arrogant? Well if too many of these apply to you, your self-belief might have tipped over into the danger zone

Arriving late

Arrogant people think their time is more important than yours. So much so that they often won't even apologise for being late.

Confident people respect others and arrive on time.

Always having the answer

Arrogant people seem incapable of saying "I don't know" even when they don't. Many don't seem to realise that they just look foolish when they bluff their way through an answer.

Confident people are happy to admit their mistakes and learn from them and are confident enough to know that they don't know everything.

Body Language

Arrogant people try to dominate any situation. If you find yourself swaggering into a room, pointing at people or standing with your hands on your hips, you're giving off dominant signals.

Confident people don't need to dominate, they know how good they are and that's enough for them.

Eye contact

Arrogant people care only about themselves. They want to make sure you know how great they are; they really don't care about you or your story. As such, they're not very good at making or maintaining eye contact because they're constantly on the lookout for someone who will benefit them more than you will.

On the other hand, a confident person will make you feel like the most important person in the room.

Take a good long look at your behaviour. If you find yourself veering too close to arrogance, be aware of your behaviour and try to reign yourself in. I'm sure you're a lovely guy really; you just need to learn a different way to interact with people.
